How many times have you told yourself that you can’t do something?
Well maybe you can! Negative thoughts actually lower your confidence level so if you want to enjoy more self-confidence, utilise the power of positive thinking.
The most important step to being confident is to believe that you’re worthy of being confident. This can require an entire change in your mindset which might not be easy, but is well worth the effort.
Self-talk is one form of building confidence through positive thinking. Positive affirmations replace negative thoughts in your mind and lead to a better self-image so get into the habit of praising yourself for a job well done, for trying something new or when you’ve achieved something special.
It might seem silly at first to constantly tell yourself, “Way to go!” every time you do your job, but you need to focus on this kind of self-talk until thinking positively about yourself becomes a real habit.
A more visual form of positive self-talk is to make a written list of your best qualities and achievements. Really take your time and write down every single positive thing about yourself, from the aspects of your appearance you feel proudest of, to the activities you do best.
When you’ve finished your list, store it somewhere safe but easy to find and whenever you need a bit of a boost, simply pull out your list and replace those negative thoughts by reminding yourself of your just how great you are!
Give it a go!
Absolutely true, Mike, Nice one.
Enjoy the journey.

Nice to know that everyone has a negative ‘chatterbox’ that needs to be countered by positive self-affirmations. It’s easier to enjoy life that way. Thanks for your post Mike.
